Unusual view

To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Barcelona Metro, TMB decided to apply a special vinyl wrap to a Class 4000 train, mirroring the Class 100 trains that originally opened the line. This initiative went ahead thanks to a proposal we submitted to the Historical Heritage Advisory Council.

For the official presentation, we were invited to the Santa Eulàlia Depots, where we were given a guided tour before being led to the line access point from the workshops, which today serves as Bordeta halt. Interestingly, Bordeta was the original terminus station of the line, but it was closed in 1983 due to the extension towards L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. From that curious platform, we rode this reimagined vintage train to another official event at Universitat station.

Following the construction of the hideous Sants "Cajón" track-enclosure scheme, the remains of the old station were demolished. Today, only a single platform remains, serving the eastbound direction towards Fondo. This unusual snapshot was taken from that very platform.
