A welcome surprise

On a stroll through the Barcelonense district of San Gervasio, I had the opportunity to relive the recent past of the last few acceptable years of the Tranvía Blau. I found the beautiful No. 10 of this special line in the recording sessions for an university short film.

Despite everything it was a bittersweet surprise, knowing that few times can these wonders of Industrial Archaeology be contemplated in operation, since many of its equals (those who provide the service) have been technically and aesthetically disfigured, destroying their originality, their great reliability over 100 years old, and their basic and efficient mechanics.

We now see sadly how the restored ones are equipped with anachronistic electronic systems that limit the Transito officer's ability to perform their actions and mastery of manual regulation of traction and electric braking points, and with the mechanical brake.

It's of little use preserving heritage if afterwards it is marred by political ideologies in its original state.
