Those were the days...

In this snapshot, we can see the old FEVE station of León - Matallana. These were its final months of operation; since then, attempts were made to pedestrianise and integrate the area by converting the section closest to the city into an urban tramway. However, endless delays and "bureau-crazy" mean that, 9 years later, there is still no word on when it will reopen.

Sharing the station, MAN unit 2605 waits to work a Cercanías (commuter) service to Guardo, alongside unit 2705, which was scheduled to depart at 14:00 as the only Regional service of the day to Bilbao.
