Midnight maintenance at Mollet

Taking advantage of the cool night air in contrast to the stifling, hot summer days, we would stay out past midnight chatting at some station or another. And every so often, a little surprise would head our way.

On this occasion, a permanent way crew turned up at Mollet - Santa Rosa station to weld the rail joints on track 2. Here we see the trackman on duty cutting a section of the rail profile to make room for a proper weld.
