Twisting

While the new underground Montmeló station was under construction, the line was diverted via the trackbed of the Barcelona - French Border high-speed line (LAV). The link between this line and the original one was a double curve in the shape of an "S", with a rather impressive change of gradient.

In the photo, we see the Catalán Talgo No. 00073 from Barcelona Término to Montpellier twisting through this curious curve.

Shortly afterwards, the Estrella Costa Brava No. 00370 from Madrid Chamartín to Cerbère made an appearance.
