A brief foray into France.

End of the line. Regional service No. 15845, formed of units 470-090 and 470-095, visits French soil. Back then, regional services on the Ca2 line covered the route between Barcelona - Sants and Cerbère, with permission to carry passengers to the latter, but having to return empty to Portbou through the international tunnel. Passengers needing to travel from Cerbère to Portbou had to do so on an SNCF train.

In these two snapshots, we can see the departure sequence from Cerbère towards Portbou. In the first, the Chef de Gare is giving the equivalent of what in Spain would be the "right-away" signal (Marche el tren).

In the second image, we see the pair of units about to enter the international tunnel.
