Goodbye Montmeló

The first one is a rather special image. On July 30, 2010, after 156 years of service, the original Montmeló station reached its final day of operation, with trains running on a single track.

Curiously enough, the very first and—at the time—only unit painted in the Rodalies de Catalunya livery made an appearance. It had been in service for only a few days and hadn't run on this line before, which makes this photo truly unique.

Unit 447-057 makes a commercial stop at Montmeló on an R2 service bound for Sant Celoni.

Shortly after, the Catalán Talgo No. 00071 from Montpellier to Barcelona Término made an appearance.
